In a northwestern section of the city of Tucson is the subdivision of Tierra Linda Nueva. Its location is ideally suited to a family that likes to be in the middle of everything. The neighborhood is situated just north of Picture Rocks, with the Avra Valley to its west, the Oro Valley to the east, and Marana to the northeast. Even nicer is the fact that this neighborhood is near the Tucson Mountains, giving residents a scenic backdrop.
There are numerous sites around the Tierra Linda Nueva subdivision. The many trails provided by the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum give nature lovers plenty to view, while the International Wildlife Museum has something for animal lovers to enjoy. For art lovers, the Tucson Museum of Art has some excellent pieces to see. Breakers Water Park is a terrific summertime heat breaker, while a movie at the nearby Fox Presents Theatre can be a fun evening out.
Public school children are part of the Marana Unified District and as such are designated to go to elementary school at Desert Winds Elementary. When the kids go on to middle school, they attend Marana Middle School, and then complete their secondary school education at Marana High. Those going on to college locally have the University of Arizona or Pima Community College.
Residents can shop at the nearby Foothills Mall or Tucson Mall, while golfers can play a round at two excellent local establishments, the Pines Golf Club at Marana or the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club Dove Mountain Course. Northwest Medical Center is the closest hospital to the area at about 14 miles away, but residents can also go to the University Medical Center, which is only five miles farther.
