The South Harrison neighborhood lies in the east side of Tucson. The neighborhood is bordered by South Harrison on the east, Golf Links on the north, South Bonanza on the west and Stella Avenue on the south. Many of the moderately prices homes were built in the 1970s, but recently, newly constructed homes are also available. Many homes are landscaped with Palo Verde trees and native cacti.
Parks in the area include Michael Perry Park where residents can go to enjoy picnics, hiking trails and sports. The park has a little league baseball diamond as well as basketball courts. Children of residents can enjoy the playground and dogs can get a drink in the dog fountain. Michael Perry Park is routinely the site for birthdays and other special occasions.
Lakeside Park is also nearby and visitors and residents enjoy fishing, hiking paths and two playgrounds. Ramadas are available for special occasions. Lakeside also has a baseball diamond and basketball court as well as a soccer field.
One must-see attraction near South Harrison Park neighborhood is the Pima Air & Space Museum. This museum houses more 300 aircraft from military, commercial and spacecraft. The museum is even home to President John F. Kennedy’s Air Force One. Visitors can also tour the aircraft storage area, the Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group, also know as the Boneyard, located across the street on Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.
Residents also have easy access to Miller-Golf Links Library where they can take children for story time, check out books or use a library computer.
