Sotomayor Ranch is a rural neighborhood in Tucson, bordered by North Mona Lisa Road to the east, West Roller Coaster Road to the south and North Oracle Jaynes Station Road to the west. The area is most undeveloped desert, covered by brush, cactus and a few trees, and a dirt road with minimal homes along North Mona Lisa Road. North Oracle Jaynes Station Road is a paved road with single level homes and subdivisions.

There are no schools located in the immediate Sotomayor Ranch vicinity. Nearby schools include La Cima Middle School, Sonoran Science Academy, Amphitheater Alternative High School, San Joaquin Alternative School, Walker Preschool and Pima Community College.

Three medical facilities are directly east of Sotomayor Ranch bordering North La Cholla Boulevard and convenient to the neighborhood. Northwest Medical Center, Healthsouth Rehab Hospital-Southern AZ, and Sonora Behavioral Health Hospital serve the needs of the Sotomayor Ranch community.

Several recreational facilities are available in the area. The YMCA of Southern Arizona, YMCA Pima County Community Center, Tucson Chinese Cultural Center Community and the Tucson Jewish Community Center provide after school programs, activities and scheduled events for adults and students.

Quail Canyon Golf Course is a short drive east from Sotomayor Ranch on North Oracle Road.

Wildwood Neighborhood Park, Pegler Recreation Area and Silverbell Regional Park and the expansive Tucson Mountain Park sit to the west of Sotomayor Ranch. Tucson Mountain Park features three picnic areas, hiking trails, campsites, bird watching and the Old Tucson Studios.
