Silver Sunset Center is a relatively young neighborhood. Most of its home development took place in the 1990s. It is a family community where many of its residents work for privately owned companies. Silver Sunset Center rests in the valley between the Tucson Mountain Range and Santa Catalina Mountains. Both mountain ranges are part of the vast and open desert found in the southwestern United States. Each is a distinctive segment of Saguaro National Park, Arizona. The Santa Catalinas offer great hiking, from desert in the lower elevations to alpine fields higher up, near the ski field on Mount Lemmon.
