Serenidad Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
The Serenidad neighborhood, located in Tucson, Arizona, is the gateway to the Catalina Foothills. This neighborhood lies just north of the Rillito Park and Racetrack. In the midst of the fifth highest income bracket in Arizona, and set among the cactus and sagebrush, this area offers the seclusion of a desert community while remaining inside the Tucson City limits.
Nestled into a desert, this quaint patch of Hacienda-style homes does away with some of the conveniences of city life, as there are no sidewalks, dog parks or bicycle paths. Access to the neighborhood is restricted on the southern border by East River Road. Traffic must enter the secluded neighborhood through the eastern border of North Via Entrada.
East Sobre Lomas forms the northern border. The East Sobre Lomas leads to Via Sonrisa, the neighborhood’s main roadway.
Via Sonrisa is a quiet solitary street, enhancing the distant view of the Santa Catalina Mountains as it winds around to the east.
The neighborhood’s other annexed street and namesake, North Via Serenidad, serves as the western border, extending beyond the neighborhood’s western front.
Serenidad is in the 85718 zip code of the city of Tucson, and offers accessible bus service south of Rillito Park. The nearby Sabino, Pima, and Ventana canyons offer many recreational activities.
Serenidad is just moments away from the Oracle Shopping Plaza and the Tucson mall, the Quail Canyon Golf course to the north, as well as the Silverbell Golf Course just west of I-10.
The historic Rillito Park and Racetrack is the fabled birthplace of quarter horse racing, the horse racing sport previously dominated by thoroughbreds. Another historic contribution of the Rillito Race track is that it was the the first track to use the “photo finish,” to determine close races.
