Saguaro Canyon Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
Saguaro Canyon, on the southeast side of Tucson, is bordered by East Escalante Road on the north, South Freeman Road to the northeast and South Old Spanish Trail on the eastside. East Mary Ann Cleveland Way lies to the far south of the community, and South Houghton Road runs directly to the east of it. The area, which is adjacent to Saguaro National Park on its eastern boundary, is a nice desert community defined by saguaro, cholla and prickly pear cactus, and the desert shade of mesquite, palo verde and ironwood trees.
After winter rains, wildflower blooms abound, coloring the yards and surrounding landscape. Purple-mats, buttercups, delphiniums, mustards, and shooting starts make the area is a magnet for butterflies and birds. Walking residents often see white-winged doves perched in saguaros or vermillion flycatchers roosting in mesquites. Their travels might lead them to a cloudless sulphur hovering over saltbush or an American lady lightly fluttering among the blooms of a butterfly bush.
The stucco-framed homes in the neighborhood are median-priced at $150,000. Most of the houses come with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, and are designed with an open floor plan, which includes a great room with vaulted ceiling and stone fireplace. Residents are also close to shopping, and are about a half hour’s drive from the Park Place Mall, a shopping complex with over 150 specialty stores.
A natural retreat close to shopping and restaurants, Saguaro Canyon is both an affordable and beautiful neighborhood.
