Sabino Highlands Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
Sabino Highlands is a community on the northeast side of Tucson, south of Sabino Canyon and the Pusch Ridge Wilderness area. It is north of East Snyder Road, which provides access to East Catalina Highway to the east, and leads north to Mount Lemmon Highway and the highest peak (Mount Lemmon) in the Santa Catalina Mountains, all which lie north of the city.
Being close to the mountains offers residents of Sabino Highlands a number of recreational options as temperatures in the Santa Catalinas are typically twenty degrees cooler than they are in the valley. In the summer, locals can get some respite from the heat by hiking and biking in the higher elevations. Or if they choose, they can opt to ski in the winter on the mountain. Also available is a game of golf in Tucson at the Skyline Country Club to the northeast or the Tucson Country Club southwest of the community.
Residents like the natural desert setting of the neighborhood which is nestled among Saguaro cactus and ironwood trees. The desert scrub landscape is also comprised of creosote bush whose resin scents the air after strong springs showers, and succulents, such as bear grass and aloe vera plants. Prickly pear and barrel cactus color the landscape with yellow and orange blooms as well, inviting hummingbirds and butterflies to the area in April, May, and June.
Because the neighborhood is close to natural recreational sites, residents enjoy resort-like lifestyles throughout the year. Opportunities exist for golf, tennis, hiking, skiing, swimming, rock climbing, and biking in this exclusive northeast side Tucson community.
