Rose is a moderately populated Tucson neighborhood with well-maintained ranch-style homes, convenient to area attractions and businesses. Rose is conveniently located next to Interstate 19 to the west, South 12th Avenue to the east, West Irvington Road to the south and West Ajo Way to the north.
To the north of the Rose community, Santa Cruz River Park, Sentinel Peak Park and John F. Kennedy Park provide plenty of recreation for residents. To the east, along West Irvington Road, residents can have fun at the Pima County Rodeo Grounds, El Pueblo Park and Rodeo Park. Davis-Monthan AFB is located a few miles east along Ajo Way.
The Southern Arizona VA Healthcare Hospital and University Physicians Hospital at Kino is a short drive from the Rose community via west Ajo Way.
Residents have easy access to Irvington Plaza Shopping Center and Del Monte Shopping Center. Both are a few minutes drive from Rose via West Irvington Road.
C E Rose Elementary School sits just inside the neighborhood. Additional schools in the immediate area include Van Buskirk Elementary School, Hollinger Elementary School, St John the Evangelist School, PPEP Tec High School, Pima Vocational High School, Cesar Chavez Middle School, Wakefield Middle School and Pueblo Magnet High School.
The trolley system is a fun and cheap way to travel around Tucson. Located north of the Rose community, the Old Pueblo Trolley travels a route taking patrons past the University of Arizona, the Arizona Historical Society, upscale residential areas, restaurants and retail shops. The trolley also runs through the downtown district to the historic downtown Tucson depot before starting its return trip.
