River Terrace Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
The River Terrace neighborhood rides the Santa Cruz Riverbed, nestled half the distance from Mount Lemon to Mount Brown in the valley. The neighborhood has a design with a “sea theme”: the homes are all arranged in the shape of a conch shell. This blend of function and artistic form is creatively set against the picturesque desert landscape.
The lip of the conch shell is Ocean Avenue that leads in from West River Road on the south. The streets gradually shrink to form the shape as they head north with the eastern boundary and end along North Seefelt Drive. The rings of the conch shell are West Sea Star Drive, West Sea Urchin Street, West Sea Lion Drive. West Sea Fan Street is the crown.
The clever design is not the only attractive feature, as the neighborhood is close to many activities. Quail Canyon Golf Course, the historical Rillito Park and Racetrack, Oracle Ridge Shopping Plaza, the Tucson mall, and the Silverbell Golf Course are all popular destinations.
The River Terrace Neighborhood was developed at the beginning of the 21st century with an eye toward blending into the landscape both horizontally and vertially. The neighborhood rests in one of the natural depressions of the growing foothills, and the use of two story homes corrects any loss of the natural beauty of the mountains without obstructing the view for neighbors.
