(hide neighborhood information)

The Ranchos Pequenos neighborhood in the metropolitan area of Tucson is comprised of larger homesteads located on expansive lots. The community is situated southwest of Saguaro National Park and southeast of the city. Bounded by East Spanish Trail to the north and South Old Spanish Trail to the east, the neighborhood is a quiet place to live and enjoy the desert scenery.

Residents like being close to the Rincon Valley Farmers and Artisans Market, which is located northeast of the neighborhood. The market features local products, as well as handmade artistry and organic fruits and vegetables. Locally produced vegetables include zucchini, garlic, pumpkins, celery, tomatoes, beets, and cauliflower. Residents can also select from such featured fruits as melons, lemons, peaches, apples, cherries, and cantaloupes. In addition, medicinal and cooking herbs are specialty items.

The Saguaro National Park, located close by, provides plenty of opportunities for hikers and birders to partake in the natural desert scenery. Visitors to the park can enjoy the saguaro forest and the white bloom of the saguaro, which is Arizona’s state flower. In addition, they can view wildlife and flowers unique to the area.

Indigenous plants include prickly pear cactus, barrel cactus, Spanish bayonets, staghorn cholla, and ironwood trees. The park is home to a variety of rattlesnakes too, such as the sidewinder, tiger rattler, western diamondback, and the black rattlesnake. Ranchos Pequenos residents, at times, also catch glimpses of red-tailed hawks, gray foxes, coyotes, javelinas, mule deer, and desert jackrabbits.

Given its location, most residents in Ranchos Pequenos drive in order to commute to work or enjoy leisure activities.
