Rail Ranch is an area north of Tucson, Arizona. Located off Route 77, or North Oracle Road, Rail Ranch is north of Catalina State Park and the Santa Catalina Mountains. Mt. Lemmon and Mount Kimball rise behind it on the east, and Tortolita Mountain Park is to the west. Many hiking opportunities abound in the area, with campsites, hiking, and mountain biking trails for all levels of enthusiasts. While there are numerous shops and restaurants in the area, many people choose to drive to the central areas around Tucson for entertainment and dining.

Students attend nearby Coronado School for Kindergarten to grade 8. Coronado Middle School Park, just north of the school, provides a large recreational area. College students can attend a variety of Pima County Community College campuses dotting the area around Tucson, or the University of Arizona in downtown Tucson.

Golfers can play their favorite sport at the Oro Valley Country Club Golf Course, Mountain View Country Club, or the Desert Greens at Oro Valley. Golder Ranch Commercial Center, located off North Oracle Road and East Golder Ranch Road, holds an annual art fair and is also home to many shops and restaurants.

A short drive from Rail Ranch, visitors enjoy the Old Tucson Studios, where actors re-enact western scenes on a much-used movie set. Food is available for purchase, as are souvenirs at the gift store. For information about the local rocks, minerals, plants and animals, the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum offers many exhibits, including exciting viewing of live animals of the desert.
