Quail Canyon Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
Quail Canyon is a Tucson neighborhood located on the northeast side of the city of Tucson. Basking in the shade of the Santa Catalina Mountains, the community is located off North Kolb Road and southwest and west of East Snyder Road and North Sabino Canyon Road, respectively. The homes, made of slump-block and stucco constructions, are priced in the $200,000 to $300,000 price range. Most are designed with two bedrooms and two baths, and were built in the 1980s.
Close to the Sabino Canyon Recreational Area, residents can visit the highest peak, Mt. Lemmon, which is also a popular ski area, by way of Mt. Lemmon Highway. Mt. Lemmon, which is part of the Coronado State Forest, is typically about 20 degrees cooler in temperature than Tucson. Therefore, residents can obtain needed relief from the heat of summer if they so choose, just by going for a visit to Mt. Lemmon instead of staying in Tucson.
Or for a little man-made coolness, they can select to drive to the Tucson Mall, the largest shopping complex in the city. The mall, which contains anchor stores such as J.C. Penney’s, Macy’s, Dillards, and Sears, houses 200 different specialty shops, as well. Shoppers can visit such stores as American Eagle Outfitters, Sephora, and Banana Republic, just to offer a sampling.
Residents are also visited by a number of bird species regularly, such as roadrunners, hawks, eagles, and, of course, quail. Hummingbirds are numerous, too, and are drawn to such indigenous plants as the hummingbird bush, whose scarlet tubular blooms are specifically designed to attract the Lilliputian bird. Quail Canyon’s location makes it a popular neighborhood choice for winter and year-round residents alike. It’s a nice, yet affordable, community in the city of Tucson.
