Northwest Tucson Neighborhood

Northwest is a neighborhood in Tucson, Arizona. The neighborhood is part of the 85705 zip code and is located south of Seneca Street, west of 1st Avenue, north of Lee Street, and east of 6th Avenue. Most of the homes in the area were built between 1940 to 1960, but several homes were built in the early 1900s, providing residents with a great look into the city’s past.

Most of the homes in Northwest are owned, so there is only a small percentage of renters. Residents in the are generally young couples in their 20s who have just started families of their own.

Directly in the center of Northwest is Mansfield Park. This popular area park is well used throughout the year, especially by area youth looking to get outdoors and stay active. The park has a baseball field, several multiple purpose fields for soccer and football, three basketball courts, a playground, sand volleyball, and a clubhouse. The park also has a good-sized swimming pool with diving boards and a nice swirling slide that is loved by area children.

Along the edge of Mansfield Park is the Northwest Neighborhood Center. Many teenagers and seniors from around the community come to the center for its health and fitness programs. The center also has a large gymnasium with indoor basketball and volleyball, a fitness center, a teen room, and a computer lab with internet access. The center offers classes for pregnant women, seniors, and youth throughout the week.
