Since the neighborhood is only one mile from the University of Arizona, many students reside in the area. Mountain 1st Avenue neighborhood is close to downtown Tucson and residents only have a short drive to attend such annual events as the Fourth Avenue Street Fair or visit the Tucson Museum of Art.
