Mitman is one of the older communities in Tucson with most of the homes in the neighborhood built in the 1950s. Located close to Davis Monthan Air Force Base, Mitman is a great place for viewing military aircraft demonstrations without the noise of many of the closer communities. Once a year, the Air Force puts on an impressive aerial demonstration that thrills visitors both young and old. Since Davis Monthan is home to the tank killing A-10, they often feature a shooting demonstration where they point the nose down and assault the ground to the cheers of onlookers.

If shopping is more to your liking, it is only a short drive south to Park Place Mall located off Broadway Boulevard. This mall is one of the largest shopping destinations in the area and includes several national chain stores such as Best Buy, Borders, Macys, and many other retail establishments. Surrounding the mall and along Broadway Boulevard are numerous restaurants that are popular with area residents, as well. If more shopping is desired, it is only a few blocks west down Broadway to El Con, which features a variety of stores that are not present in Park Place.

The warm weather of Mitman provides great opportunities to be outdoors. One great location for outdoor recreation is directly across from El Con Mall. This is home to one of the largest golf courses in the region: the Randolph Municipal Golf Course. Here it is possible to connect with area golf professionals who are willing to work with players at all experience levels. Next to the golf course is one of the largest tennis facilities in the state of Arizona. The Randolph Recreation Center has many tennis courts just waiting for a little competition. Along with the abundance of tennis courts, Randolph’s community swimming pool is popular among area residents, especially during the warmer months.
