Midvale Park is a neighborhood located on the southwest side of the city of Tucson. It is bounded on the west by South Oak Tree Drive and on the north by West Drexel Road. West Valencia Road is located south of the community, and South Midvale Park Drive runs along the western side.

The family-oriented community is made up of homes that range in price from $100,000 to $180,000. Designed with three or four bedrooms and two baths, the stucco-framed houses are approximately 1,500 square feet in size. Children in the neighborhood attend one of three schools, Raul Grijalva Elementary School, Pistor Middle School, or Pueblo Magnet High School.

With easy access to Interstate 19 in the city, residents can conveniently travel to a number of recreational sites and shopping centers, all located in proximity to the popular south-side neighborhood. In addition, the Sun Trans bus system runs through the community, making it convenient to get downtown and to major shopping malls like the Tucson Mall on the north side and Park Place Mall on the near east side.

Mission San Xavier Del Bac also lies south of the community on the Tohono O’odham Reservation. Known as the “White Dove of the Desert,” this house of worship was constructed by the Franciscans in the late 17th century. Distinguished as being one of the best representations of Spanish Mission architectural styling in existence, the building also contains a gift shop and museum.

In addition, residents are only a short day drive from Madera Canyon, which is about 40 miles to the south. The recreational area, nestled in the Santa Rita Mountains, is designed for birding, hiking, and picnics. It’s just one of the reasons why Midvale residents like their area on Tucson’s south side.
