Those who really want to get back to nature may frequent the Santa Catalina Mountains, mountain parks, forestland, and natural areas that surround the city of Tucson. Just a short drive from Metropolitan, these areas are popular for camping, hiking, nature viewing, and picnicking.

Another popular attraction near Metropolitan is the Omni Tucson National Golf Resort, a golf resort and spa that offers two challenging 18-hole courses. At least four more golf courses are situated within a few miles to the north.
