The Los Morteros neighborhood is located adjacent to 3,000 acres of primarily undeveloped land belonging to the White Stallion Ranch. The ranch has been in business for decades, and celebrates the western way of life. Along with hosting a weekly rodeo each Saturday, the White Stallion Ranch has events like cattle penning, hayrides, and horseback riding, as well as country cookouts and barbecues, and a large western variety of nature and entertainment venues.

Saguaro National Park is located directly south of the White Stallion Ranch. Tucson Mountain Park connects to the southern border of Saguaro National Park. All of these lands create excellent scenic views for residents of the Los Morteros community. Saguaro National Park is a wonderful destination for hiking, camping, and picnicking. Tucson Mountain Park is a popular spot for riding mountain bikes.

Old Tucson Studios is an established western theme park positioned in the southern section of Tucson Mountain Park. Along with dining, shopping, and good old-fashioned western gun fights, Old Tucson Studios offers western themed family games and rides. The Studios are the filming site of hundreds of western television shows and movies. Set tours for many of them are regularly available to visitors.

Interstate 10 runs north and south on the eastern border of the Los Morteros. Travelers can drive less than two hours north to reach the City of Phoenix, Arizona’s state capital. They can also take Interstate 10 south past Tucson, and stay on Interstate 10 to visit the state of New Mexico, or merge onto Interstate 19 to travel internationally into the country of Mexico.
