Las Palomas Apartments for Rent
Las Palomas is a neighborhood with a lot going for it. With a zip code of 85746, the community is next to Interstate 19 and close to Interstate 10. These are two of the most important interstate highways in Tucson.
Less than a half mile from Las Palomas is Tuscon International Airport, an important travel hub for the city.
About a mile from the neighborhood is Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. Davis is an important and strategic air base. It is home to both fighter squadrons, and a storage facility for both B-29 and C-47 aircraft. The base has an interesting history and continues to serve the United States well. Many people in Las Palomas are stationed in or work at the base.
This neighborhood is also less than two miles from Saguaro National Park. The park has many species of cactus, including the towering giant saguaro. It also has both pine and fir forests, and is home to many of the unique animals found in the desert southwest of the US. Hiking trails make this national park accessible for the person who loves wildlife, or who enjoys taking pictures. There are also places with beautiful scenic views and for picnicking. Camping sites are available. Some places in this park approach an altitude of 8,000 feet. Though the saguaro cactus is often considered one of the symbols of the American southwest, there are actually few other places where they grow.
Las Palomas is also not without wild animals. Residents often see them all year long. Sometimes these sightings include creatures that are quite rare and not often seen. It is a joy to be able to see them right outside the door.
This neighborhood is one of great sunsets, opportunities, and wide-open rugged vistas.
