Las Alturas is a comfortable little neighborhood with mostly modern, moderate to large-sized homes. Many of the homes here have swimming pools and other amenities. The neighborhood itself is part of the Catalina Foothills in Tucson, Arizona. This section of Tucson is known for having wonderful views, lots of open space, and great recreation. To find the neighborhood, simply look within the 85718 zip code along North Calle Bujia, which connects along the western side to Pontatoc Road.

One of the biggest draws in the general area is the Catalina Foothills High School. This large school is a great place for area high school children to obtain an education. The school not only has solid education programs, but an excellent sports program with great supporting facilities for both. Along the south side of the high school is a recreation area providing residents with access to numerous tennis courts, baseball fields, and multiple-purpose fields.

Northeast of the high school is Bel Air Plaza Shopping Center, which is the closest in the area. This modest shopping center has a number of retailers that provide day to day goods, but is mostly known for dining with a number of options. Eateries here include Trattoria Pina, Bazil’s To Go, Larocca’s Classic Italian, Burger King, McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, Subway, Golden Dragon, Starbucks, and Sundaze Yogurt, to name a few. There is also a good bicycle shop here as well as CVS Pharmacy and Ace Hardware.

Other major destinations include La Paloma Country Club to the northeast, Skyline Country Club to the north, and Ventana Canyon Golf and Country Club to the northeast. These golf and country clubs provide a great deal of recreation in this part of the Catalina Foothills and provide a bit of variety to make a game of golf a little less routine.
