La Paloma is a primarily residential community in the Catalina Foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains. It’s in Pima County, just north of Tucson. It lies along East Sunrise Drive.

La Paloma is near natural scenery and a convenient shopping center. La Encantada is about a mile northwest of the neighborhood, and it is a two-level open mall. It contains such shops as the Apple Store. The Bel Air Plaza Shopping Center is also only a mile from La Paloma.

The Westin La Paloma Resort and Spa, one of the premier resorts in the greater Tucson area, is in the community. It is owned by the renowned Starwood Hotels. The spa serves guests and nearby residents with massages and other natural treatments. The resort also has a fitness center, Jacuzzi tub, and its own golf course.

Many well-to-do residents belong to the La Paloma Country Club. It has received many awards and much recognition. “Golf Digest” rated it among the ten best golf courses in Arizona, and it has been named one of the 50 best gold courses by “Conde Nast Traveler.” In addition to its sprawling golf courses, the club offers tennis courts, an aqua center, state-of-the-art gym facilities, fitness classes, and on-site restaurants.

La Paloma is a very dog-friendly community. The Companions for Life dog training center is south of the neighborhood. Sabino Canyon, which lies in the Coronado National Forest, is about five miles east of La Paloma, and it’s a popular place for local dog walkers to take their canine companions. It hosts large waterfalls and plentiful wildlife.
