The La Mira neighborhood in Tucson, Arizona, is a unique mixture of industry and residence in the 85705 zip code area. Several of the homes utilize the large plots of land for multiple homes, home offices, or even freestanding structures that serve as the business location. This allows for a more gentle transition from the commercial areas to the residential.

The La Mira neighborhood’s northern boundary is West Wetmore Road. To the south, the homes on both sides of West La Osa Drive are part of the neighborhood. The neighborhood boundary ends at the back of North San Patricio Place on the eastern side, with the properties facing North Flowing Wells road closing off the west, making the neighborhood secluded.

West Wetmore Road can bring the residents to the Oracle Shopping Plaza and the Tucson Mall, as well as numerous auto dealerships. Further to the east is the historical Rillito Park and racetrack, which invented the “photo-finish.” Traveling south is Jacobs Park, and on the west side of I-10 are the Silverbell parks and golf course.

North El Tovar Avenue and North El Burrito Avenue connect the La Mira neighborhood to West Wetmore Road with no other access. Some of the property walls have pulled back from the curb, giving a six-foot-wide earth path, but it isn’t consistent throughout the neighborhood, making the vehicles safely share the road with cyclists and pedestrians.

The Sun Tran Bus Line does offer public transportation with routes number 10, 16, and 61, and the Tohono Tadai Transit Center is also nearby. Most homes have water-saving desert landscaping, but there is no shortage of shade trees to help cool the homes during the summer months.
