Jonathan Park Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
The Jonathan Park Neighborhood is in the 85706 zip code of Tucson, Arizona, and on the flat basin of the valley as the mountains loosen their grip on the topography. South of the Santa Cruz Riverbed, this neighborhood is a representation of simple living among the commercial and industrial properties of the city.
Located on the northeastern inside row of the grid lined streets, the northern border of the neighborhood is encapsulated by nearby properties. The homes divide into small groups that claim access to South Masterson Avenue to the east via a common courtyard. The southern homes exit to East Alvord Road, as the neighboring homes close off the western front.
To the north is the Electric Park, Kino Stadium venue, former home to the spring training camps of the Arizona Diamondbacks, Chicago White Sox, and the Colorado Rockies, and is currently the host to a youth league sponsored by The Chicago White Sox. The Pima Air and Space Museum opened in 1976, and is the largest non-government funded aviation museum. It can be found to the east of the neighborhood.
South of the Jonathan Park Neighborhood is the Tucson International Airport for that weekend getaway. The Pima County Rodeo Grounds hosts demonstrations (non-competitive rodeo) during the month of February, is to the west.
The durable homes of the neighborhood, manufactured in the mid 1990s, still have the same attractive and affordable qualities as when they first took residence. The use of water saving desert landscaping also has the advantage of being low maintenance. Many of the homes use trees as shade from the summer sun.
The dusty shoulders that flank the asphalt roads serve as parking and the pathway for pedestrians, as well as cyclists. Tucson is a bicycle friendly city, yet the bike lanes are reserved for the main roadways.
