Flowing Wells, Tucson is located along Highway 10 in Southern Arizona. It is surrounded by the Santa Catalina Mountains, Tucson Mountains, Santa Rita Mountains and the Rincons. Flowing Wells community was developed in 1995. Residents formed a coalition, the Flowing Wells Neighborhood Association and Community Coalition (FWNACC) to initiate neighborhood development and safety. As sub-committees formed to pursue special projects and initiate neighborhood wellness, a sense of pride showed forth. Local citizens began working together to promote a strong, positive image in the community, cleaning up litter and graffiti, uniting to represent their neighborhood as one worth recognition in the City of Tucson.

Flowing Wells was once considered a tough part of town, but through the efforts and hard work of its people, it has become a thriving community. The Flowing Wells Community Justice Board, developed in part by efforts from the FWNACC, promotes a community service program. According to FWNACC, “Those who have been convicted of minor offenses can be adjudicated by the peers of their community. Mandated community service work can be completed within our own neighborhood.”

Flowing Wells is self sufficient. For over ten years, they have raised their own funds to support community events, promote local artists, preserve the environment and promote grassroots efforts to enhance growth and development. They are a community of resources and resourceful people, working together for the betterment of all, representing pride, dignity and a strong work ethic within the City of Tucson, Arizona.
