There are also many quality area schools in proximity to El Rio Acres, and it is served by the Tucson Unified School District. Richey Elementary School and Manzo Elementary School are within walking distance of the neighborhood.
El Rio Acres is an especially popular neighborhood for families with special needs children. The Arizona School for the Deaf and the Blind is only a half-mile southeast of the community.
