In the far southwestern section of Tucson is the neighborhood of Diamond Bell Ranch. The subdivision is located about fifteen miles west of Interstate 19 and is about 20 miles from the Arizona/Mexico border. Greenwald Acres and Mira Bell are among the closest subdivisions to Diamond Bell Ranch and its location puts it close to other cities such as Sahuarita and Green Valley. It is technically considered part of Arivaca, Arizona.
Peace and tranquility is easily found in Diamond Bell Ranch, because of its location away from the busy part of Tucson. That is reflected in such things as leisure activities, where golfers must travel at least 19 miles to the nearest course, but they do get a quality selections of places from which to tee off. San Ignacio and Haven Public are two possible options for Arizona duffers.
Shopping for residents involves at least a 15 minute car ride to hit the malls. Holualoa Green Valley Mall is the first that people living in the neighborhood can reach, with Tucson and El Con Shopping Malls another eight miles down the road.
Students in Diamond Bell Ranch fall under the Altar Valley School District and, because of its location, have set schools to attend on each level. Elementary school students attend Robles Elementary while middle school children go to classes at Altar Valley Intermediate. Teenagers go to Flowing Wells to complete their high school studies. The University of Arizona is the closest institute of higher learning to Diamond Bell Ranch.
Two interesting pieces of culture are less than 20 miles from the neighborhood: the Titan Missile Museum and the Mission San Xavier del Bac. Both give interesting insights into parts of Arizona’s history.
