Civano is an eclectic neighborhood off Houghton Road in southeast Tucson. Civano is a complete neighborhood in its own right. There are two pools, a basketball court, and sports park.

The neighborhood features a full service nursery. Residents can join the Garden Club and learn about planting in the desert. The nursery will advise residents and visitors on watering tips for trees, plants, and shrubs. The nursery offers pots and planters, yard decor and sculptures, and gardening tools. The nursery also operates a 70-acre farm in nearby Sahuarita.

Residents can join the Civano Book Club, Civano Cycling Club, and offers Civano Teen Night, and Civano Tykes. Working Groups strive to assist neighbors, educate about the environment, and assist in community growth.

Civano publishes its own community newsletter that is available on the Internet and by mail for those who choose to subscribe. The Town Crier informs residents on events in the neighborhood, as well as news, information, and spotlights interesting residents. Civano also maintains a lengthy business directory, ranging from accounting, computers, and restaurants. Residents can receive discounted services and products.

Civano Community School is a charter school for K-5. The school focuses on each child’s creativity and interests. Nearby are Civano Elementary School, Civano Middle School, and Cienega High School.

There is a shopping center just a few minutes from Civano on South Houghton Road. Retail establishments include Fry’s Food and Pharmacy, Pizza Hut, PostNet, and Rita Ranch Pet Hospital.

Civano residents are active in their community and participate in the annual Fourth of July Party and Halloween Hay Ride. There is always something to do in Civano. Civano is a great place to walk dogs and explore the surrounding desert area. The neighborhood is located thirty minutes from Downtown Tucson.
