This open plot of land was subdivided in 1940 and is now comprised of Pueblo and Spanish revival style single family homes on nicely sized lots. Palm trees line the streets, and winding roads along with the occasional roundabout add to the cosmetic appeal of this serene neighborhood.

The average home in this neighborhood was built in the 1950s and is around 2,200 square feet. Some homes, however, may reach 5,000 square feet and many also feature quarter-acre lots. Catalina Vista’s close proximity to both the University Medical Center and the University of Arizona have helped keep home values high.

Catalina Vista children may attend the Jefferson Park Elementary School, Blenman Elementary School, Doolen Middle School and the Catalina High School.

For those looking for sport activities, the United States Handball Association can be found between North Tucson Boulevard and East Grant. Those looking for some entertainment can take advantage of the Catalina Cineplex Odeon Theater, conveniently located inside the Catalina Vista neighborhood just off North Campbell Avenue.

As of 2003, Catalina Vista was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
