Casitas Del Valle is a small, sparsely populated community of southern Tucson in Summit. It is just south of the Tucson International Airport and southeast of the Catalina Foothills. It is within easy driving distance to many of Tucson’s cultural and natural attractions.
The Davis-Monthan Air Force Base is northeast of Casitas Del Valle. Its mission includes the dedication to support 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group and the 12th Air Force (AFSOUTH) operations, an Air National Guard air sovereignty mission.
Pima Air and Space Museum is northeast of the Casitas Del Valle neighborhood. It has an extensive collection, helpful and well-informed docents, and special exhibits for children. The off-beat Tucson Rodeo Parade Museum is north of Casitas Del Valle, and this museum celebrates a parade that has been a part of Tucson culture.
Casitas Del Valle is a family-friendly neighborhood. Family entertainment, like Vantage Bowling Center, is within walking distance to the north of Casitas Del Valle. Summit View Elementary School is located within the community. Other quality private and public schools are within easy driving distance, including San Xavier Mission Convent School and San Miguel High School. The San Xavier Del Bac Mission is five miles northwest of Casitas Del Valle. It houses a museum that is full of historical artifacts.
The community of Casitas Del Valle is also ideal for college students. The University of Arizona is east of the community. The Flight Safety International flying school is about three miles northwest of the neighborhood. The Pima Community College is north of Casitas Del Valle.
