Nearly all of the two dozen homes in the Casas Del Oso neighborhood have pools in their backyards. Consisting of two small streets branching off from the small Larrea Lane, Casas Del Oso is in a particularly isolated part of the Catalina Foothills. It’s the kind of neighborhood where you never see a car drive by unless they’re en route to your home or one of your neighbor’s houses.

With a great view of the mountains just a mile to the north, Casas Del Oso is understandably a very desirable neighborhood, and it is among the wealthiest areas of Tucson. The quiet streets and remote nature of this neighborhood keep it isolated, despite its location near central Tucson.

Still, important landmarks are close by. The University of Arizona and the Tucson Medical center are just a few miles’ drive away. The beautiful Santa Catalina Mountains are almost within walking distance.

While technically a part of the Catalina Foothills, Casas Del Oso is at the far eastern end. It is not unusual for people to be confused when giving driving directions to the area if you stress the Catalina Foothills part, as even some long-time Tucson residents are unaware that the Catalina Foothills extend that far to the east.
