Canada Vista Apartments for Rent
The sun peeks over the Santa Catalina Mountains as the residents of the Canada Vista neighborhood awake, gilding the sky with a palate of golden hues. The community, which is located in the Oro Valley, 15 miles northwest of downtown Tucson, enjoys 300 days of sunshine a year. The area is bounded on the west by North La Canada Drive, north by West Cactus Moon Place, and the east/south by North Laughing Coyote Way. Canada Vista has masonry, one story stucco homes on paved, low traffic streets.
Children attend the Copper Creek Elementary, or Wilson K-8, and Ironwood Ridge High Schools. The new Oro Valley Marketplace shopping center, with anchor stores including Wal-Mart Supercenter, Best Buy, Cost Plus, an Olive Garden restaurant, and Century Theatre, is located 5 miles east at the intersection of Oracle Road and Tangerine Boulevard.
The nearby, 5493 acre, Catalina State Park is located at the foot of the spectacular Santa Catalina Mountains and is a part of the Coronado National Forest. Eight hiking trails provide a backdrop of desert and mountain scenery for mountain biking, horseback riding, hiking and nature study.
The unique landscape of the park includes the majestic, soaring, Saguaro Cactus. These magnificent plants, symbolic of the western desert, can have as many as five arms stretching up to 50 feet high. With over 5000 Saguaro, some up to 200 years old, The Catalina State Park is the home of more Saguaro than any other state park in the United States. Arizona has chosen the creamy white flower of the Saguaro, which blooms during the night and early morning in May and June, as its State Flower.
