The unique landscape of the park includes the majestic, soaring, Saguaro Cactus. These magnificent plants, symbolic of the western desert, can have as many as five arms stretching up to 50 feet high. With over 5000 Saguaro, some up to 200 years old, The Catalina State Park is the home of more Saguaro than any other state park in the United States. Arizona has chosen the creamy white flower of the Saguaro, which blooms during the night and early morning in May and June, as its State Flower.
