Barrio Santa Rosa Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
The Barrio Santa Rosa neighborhood was established around 235 years ago. This historic neighborhood is rich in Mexican and Spanish influence. In fact, many old adobe homes remain to this day.
These adobe homes are painted in bright greens, reds, and blues in the Southwest tradition. Many have been restored, retaining original wood floors and recessed windows and doors.
Residents and visitors are just a short drive from Catalina State Park. Some annual events include The Festival of the Sun and the Solar Potluck and Exhibition. Visitors can take advantage of the many hiking trails, picnic areas, and campsites. The landscapes are brimming with saguaro and other species of cactus, some of which are hundreds of years old.
If visiting in September, tourists can attend the annual Tohono O’odham Nation Festival and learn about this Native American tribe’s history and traditions. The Golden Gate Mountain, another must see, just out of the valley at a height of 4,288 feet.
Another of the area’s attractions is the Southwestern International Dragway. Every Friday night visitors are thrilled by both local and visiting professional drivers. Members can even enter contests to ride in a dragster that tops out at 170 miles per hour.
Santa Cruz River Park is near Barrio Santa Rosa, providing bike paths, hiking and jogging trails, and picnic areas for birthday parties and other special events.
Visitors and residents of Barrio Santa Rosa will also enjoy the many Southwestern-themed restaurants in this Tucson suburb.
