Adelanto is a Tucson neighborhood just east of Interstate 10, south of Grant Road, and north of Speedway Boulevard. Adelanto is an older neighborhood just a short drive from the major recreation and shopping in Tucson.

Inside of the Adelanto neighborhood itself there are a number of opportunities for recreation. On the south side, off 15th Avenue, residents flock to Francisco Elias Esquer Park. This park is small but a good place to relax with friends and family. It has a picnic area, some paths, a playground, and basketball court. Many walkers, runners, and cyclists head through the park during their workouts to add a little extra distance, while other simply take their dogs for light exercise.

Residents are also close to the Tucson Indoor Sports Center off of Grant Road. This popular destination is a great place to play indoor sports such as soccer, inline skating, dodge ball, and even participate in a roller derby. The center is also used for birthday parties and other events.

Next to the Tucson Indoor Sports Center is the Cinemark Century 16 movie theater. The theater shows new releases and a few classics on their 16 screens. The theater provides a great place for families and teenagers to spend some time.

El Rio Golf Course is off Speedway Boulevard about a mile to the southwest. This course is one of the largest in the area and well maintained. The course also has a clubhouse that is staffed with golf professionals ready to assist golfers with general questions.
