Tolleson, AZ Apartments for Rent

Tolleson is located 10 miles west of Phoenix, Arizona. It is a small, self-contained community with a strong economy based in industry and manufacturing. Rent an apartment in Tolleson and you’ll enjoy a family-friendly community with beautiful city parks, not far from the large metro area of Phoenix.

Incorporated in 1929, Tolleson was named for founder W.G. Tolleson. When the city began, it was mainly an agricultural center. Today, it still retains a somewhat rural, small-town feel, even though it is just a short distance from the museums, theaters, and major sports teams located in Phoenix.

Estrella Mountain Regional Park is just 10 miles south of Tolleson. This vast park covers 19,840 acres of desert, mountains, and wetlands near the meeting of the Agua Fria and Gila Rivers. Hiking trails range from easy to moderately difficult; the longest trail, the Pedersen, is 6.8 miles long.

Located about a half hour southeast of Tolleson, South Mountain is another great area for outdoor recreation. This 16,000-acre park is the largest municipal park in the country. Visitors enjoy 51 miles of trails, ideal for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Other activities include archery, bird watching, fishing, and orienteering courses.
