Thornblade is a medium-sized area in Huntsville, Alabama which is residential in nature. Its winding streets are lined with lush, tall trees which also make up the surrounding forests. Located near a major thoroughfare and close to the center of the city, Thornblade is an excellent suburban environment with access to urban amenities.
Houses in Thornblade are large and built on sizeable lots. This makes up the eastern boundary. The highway continues to form the northern boundary of Thornblade, while Garth Road SE serves as the western border.
Thornblade has two schools in the area. Jones Valley Elementary School is part of the Huntsville City Schools system and educates students from Kindergarten to grade 5. Randolph School is just outside the western boundary and is a private school with students from Kindergarten to grade 12.
Burritt Museum is about five minutes north of Thornblade and features historic buildings and land from historic Huntsville. The Wedding Chapel on the Mountain is a few miles to the east of Thornblade and is a noted destination for couples to tie the knot. This chapel offers several wedding packages and often works in conjunction with the Burritt Museum for ceremonies.
