Re Nelms Apartments for Rent

The RE Nelms neighborhood is a rural neighborhood in the northwest part of Huntsville. It features a blend of new, country-estate homes on many acres to more modest and older homes on large tracts.

It is bound by Research Park Boulevard Northwest and by Blake Bottom Road Northwest. The area is equidistant between the industrial parks to the northeast and the research areas just south and less than 10 miles from downtown Huntsville.

Parks and recreational centers within a 10-mile drive of RE Nelms include Monte Sano State Park and the Jim Williams Aquatic Center. Monte Sano State Park has more than 20 miles of trails for hiking and 8 miles of mountain bike trails through the mountainous region.

Two of the state’s largest state parks are also close by at Lake Guntersville and Joe Wheeler State Park and National Wildlife Preserve.

A number of retail areas can be found just south on Research Park Boulevard Northwest, including Target, Wal-Mart, and Stein Mart at Westside Center. Carmike Huntsville 10 movie complex is just north of Westside Center. A good variety of local and national restaurants can be found here, too.

Several universities serve the neighborhood, including Alabama A&M, J. F. Drake State Technical College, and the city’s largest – University of Alabama Huntsville.

Monrovia Golf Course is the closest course to RE Nelms, about 5 miles southwest. A bit farther, and to the east, are Las Animas Municipal Golf Course and Huntsville Country Club. The state parks also have excellent golf courses.

There are many historic sites around Huntsville. One of the largest and most significant is the Twickenham Historic District. This large antebellum district, with distinctive architecture, includes the Weeden House, the oldest house in the state.
