Huntsville Campus Apartments for Rent
The Huntsville Campus neighborhood is a new area in the southeast part of the city. New Federal style townhomes are quite spacious, with small lawns and professional landscaping. Sidewalks add a welcoming atmosphere; local service establishments, a large movie theater, and national-name restaurants provide convenience.
The Huntsville Campus area lies west of Bailey Cove Road Southeast, south of 4 Mile Post Road Southeast.
Very close to the neighborhood are two golf courses, Valley Hill Golf and Country Club, and Huntsville Municipal Golf Course. Just a bit farther is Hampton Cove Golf Course, a private course adjoining Hays Nature Preserve.
Massive Guntersville Lake is less than a half-hour’s drive from the neighborhood, providing access to some of the finest fishing in the state. There is a bass tournament held at Guntersville each year. It is also a popular lake for boating and water skiing. Equally large Wheeler Lake and Wheeler State Park are less than an hour’s drive west.
William B. Bankhead National Forest, a short drive south, is a huge area, offering hiking trails, historical sites, a shooting range, and camping facilities. Trail-heads at Bankhead allow access to the famous Appalachian Trail.
Huntsville has some new and decidedly upscale retail centers, reflecting the new design concepts of outdoor shopping, entertainment, and dining in walkable, park-like setttings. Bridge Street Town Centre features upscale shops, office space, and a luxury hotel. Parkway Place Mall is anchored by two department stores, and includes such names as Williams-Sonoma and Ann Taylor.
The largest educational facility is University of Alabama Huntsville, offering bachelor through doctoral degrees, primarily in engineering and sciences. UAH also is also known for healthcare education.
Of course, Redstone Arsenal and Marshall Space Center dominate the Huntsville area. Many associated professional services support space and aviation.
