Huntsville has many fine retail centers, but the most exciting may be Bridge Street Town Centre. This planned district provides great entertainment and is built around a park-like setting. Top attractions include the 10-acre lake, complete with boat rentals and gondola rides, a carousel, and fountains.

Only six miles away is the University of Alabama Huntsville, with a student enrollment of approximately 6,500. Known for its science and medical programs, UAH also works closely with NASA. Near UAH is Cummings Research Park, known around the world for its cutting edge research and development.

Huntsville has many fine golf courses. Huntsville Country Club is a membership club while Huntsville Municipal Golf Course is public. Both are within five miles of Hawks Ridge.
