This area consists of just a few buildings south of Teakwood Drive Southwest and east of Whitesburg Drive South. Within a mile or two southwest of Bellewood Park are two of the area’s most popular options for outdoor recreation – the Becky Peirce Municipal Golf Course and the adjacent Huntsville Running Park. The running park is a great place for fitness minded individuals to get together and train for their next race or just enjoy a nice run outdoors. The golf course was formerly known as the Huntsville Municipal Golf Course and is simply called “The Muni” by locals. This par 72, 18-hole course is open year-round, with the exception of Thanksgiving and Christmas. A putting green, driving range, snack bar, and short game practice area are also offered here.
