Sylvan Heights Neighborhood

The Sylvan Heights region of Nashville is one of the city’s hottest neighborhoods. Urban professionals and retirees have flocked to the area in recent years, drawn by its tree-lined streets and stunning mixture of architecture. Residents can walk past restored and well-maintained homes with a wide variety of styles ranging from small cottages to large Queen Anne homes. Residents have access to several outdoor recreation activities along with hip dining, entertainment and shopping options.

Sylvan Park is located in southwestern Nashville. Its approximate boundaries are Charlotte Avenue to the north, Interstate 440 to the east and the Amtrak railroad tracks the south and west.

Adventurous diners in Sylvan Heights can sample different ethnic and world cuisines, including outstanding Cajun and Vietnamese pho restaurants. A great way for residents to work off the calories they gain from dining out at one of the neighborhood’s many outstanding restaurants is to visit Climb Nashville. This indoor rock climbing venue offers challenges for experienced climbers along with programs for beginners looking to get into better shape.

The local Richland Park library branch is one of the best in the city. The large, well-lit reading rooms have comfortable chairs and high ceilings, along with an impressive collection of books. The library also hosts frequent readings and special events for children and adults.

Open space in Sylvan Heights can be found at Clifton Park, which has a baseball/softball field along with a soccer field. Golfers are just a short drive from the McCabe Golf Course, a 27-hole public course that has recently been renovated with new greens and tee boxes.
