Riverbend Neighborhood

Riverbend is a residential neighborhood located along the Hillsborough River that provides a great deal of scenic beauty.

The neighborhood is in close proximity to some of the best recreation and entertainment in the area. Probably the most popular is Lowry Park Zoo. This famous zoo is known throughout the world and is commonly featured on television for its numerous successful breeding programs. The zoo has an innovative layout that offers visitors better vantage points while still keeping the animals comfortable.

The zoo also has many major events. The annual Wine Festival and Zoo Boo bring in visitors from throughout the Tampa region and beyond. Only a few blocks away, many area residents have annual passes, giving them regular zoo access at a considerable discount.

For those looking to get in a little more exercise, only a few miles to the west of the neighborhood is the Police Athletic league. This large athletic park features five baseball/softball fields, numerous line soccer fields, and many multi-purpose fields. On the Diana Street side there is also a large court that is laid out for basketball, four square, and even shuffle board. A large playground in the southwest corner of the park really rounds it out as being a perfect destination for any family. This is a popular area for children playing league games throughout the summer, as well as just putting together games with their friends.
