Every summer, the city of Cheyenne is decked out in all of its Western finery for one of the biggest celebrations in the world – Cheyenne Frontier Days. People from all over the country come to enjoy the rodeo events, the carnival midway, the live entertainment, the art shows, the Old West Museum, and the Indian Village.

During the rest of the year, Cheyenne’s Western charm is displayed in more subdued ways. The city is home to museums and movie theaters, ranches, the Cheyenne Symphony, a botanic garden, and a great downtown filled with shops and restaurants. Rent in Cheyenne and you’ll have plenty to see and do.

As the state capital, Cheyenne is a busy metro area with the economy based in government and military. The F.E. Warren Air Force Base and the Wyoming National Guard are both based near Cheyenne. Wind energy, healthcare, and retail also contribute to the local economy. The University of Wyoming is located just south of Cheyenne.

Cheyenne is home to an impressive trail system and several parks, including Mylar Park, Cahill Park, Holliday Park, and Brimmer Park. The nearby Laramie Mountains provide outdoor activities that range from mountain biking, camping, boating, and fishing to horseback riding and geochaching.
