Northeast Tacoma Apartments for Rent
The northern border of the Northeast Tacoma neighborhood, zip code 98422, runs through Dash Point State Park and slides sideways to SW 356th Street ending at 54th Avenue and the eastern border. The western border follows Maple View Drive, which is also the border of the Port of Tacoma.
One of the biggest draws in the area is the Dash Point State Park. The state part has great views of Puget Sound from the beach, and there are 398 acres for camping in the forest. On the west side of the neighborhood are several marinas for launching boats, fishing, or just grabbing a bite at one of the many unique eateries. Residents who are not boaters or campers might appreciate the 18-hole North Shore Golf Course that recently upgraded the greens.
The neighborhood has three elementary schools: Brown’s Point Elementary, Northeast Elementary, and Crescent Heights Elementary. Older children attend Meeker Middle School and Stadium High School. The homes in the neighborhood around Puget Sound and the marina areas are more affluent, but there are more reasonably priced homes and apartments farther inland.
Families will enjoy the Centre at Norpoint. The community center is located in the southern portion of Northeast Tacoma. The Centre has an indoor swimming pool and a fitness center. Childcare is available for a nominal fee and classes are offered for activities like yoga.
While there are no major shopping centers in this area, there are restaurants on the marina and stores scattered throughout the neighborhood. The Tacoma Mall is ten miles southwest and is considered one of the premier malls in the region. Residents looking for more will find it in downtown Tacoma, ten miles to the west.
