North Beach Blue Ridge Apartments for Rent
North Beach/Blue Ridge is an affluent neighborhood east of Puget Sound between Golden Gardens Park and Carkeek Park. Homes are set far apart on the hill, and the area’s elevation provides residents with spectacular water views.
Two schools serve the area: North Beach Elementary School, for kindergarten through fifth grade, and Whitman Middle School, for sixth, seventh, and eighth graders. Whitman follows a parallel scheduling model that lets students leave the school’s academic setting when it is time to take their elective courses.
Golden Gardens Park, in the adjacent Ballard neighborhood, is a popular beach destination. Beach volleyball, bonfires and picnics can be seen at Golden Gardens on any given weekend. Residents can rent the Golden Gardens Bathhouse for events such as weddings, anniversary parties, and dances.
Carkeek Park, to the north of North Beach/Blue Ridge, offers views of Puget Sound and the Olympics. Piper’s Creek, a salmon-bearing stream, winds through the area. Carkeek Park is family friendly with easy hiking trails and clean picnic areas.
The area is residential except for the occasional parks and schools. Swanson’s Nursery is a rare exception at the base of the hill to the northeast. Residents enjoy visiting Swanson to shop for plants and shrubs to enhance their already-full landscapes. Since 1900 Seattle Golf and Country Club, to the northeast, has provided residents with a chance to play world class golf close to home.
