Overlake Neighborhood

The Overlake neighborhood is part of the city of Redmond, Washington. Located north of State Route 520, the area is primary residential. Redmond, a busy Seattle suburb, plays home to Microsoft, Nintendo of America, and many other tech companies. The area is easy to access from major highways, including two floating bridges that link the area to Seattle.

The Overlake Transit Facility, located on NW 40th Street, links a 209-space park and ride to Seattle’s Metro Bus System and the King County Metro Transit. Microsoft also offers a shuttle from this location.

The nearby Overlake Private School serves grades 5 through 12, and the Overlake Village and Employment Area provides a combination of living, working, and recreation in one area. Many business parks lie in the area between 148th Avenue NE, NE 60th Street, and Bel-Red Road. Overlake offers easy access to SR-520 and the Overlake Transit Center. The area is also bike friendly, with numerous bike and pedestrian pathways.

The Overlake Residential Area sits west of West Lake Sammamish Parkway and north of NE 40th Street. The neighborhood’s western boundary varies between 156th Avenue NE and 154th Street NE. The neighborhood is primarily comprised of single-family homes. Residents enjoy the Cascade View Neighborhood Park and the Westside Neighborhood Park. Marymoor Park, which offers an exciting summer concert series, also lies nearby. The Sammamish River Trail, part of the extensive Burke Gilman Trail, links the city to Seattle.
