Colonial Heights, a delightful city just north of Petersburg, Virginia, is a beautiful location with a long history. As part of the original Virginia Colony, the area was settled by colonists in 1620. Those choosing to rent an apartment in Colonial Heights will be surrounded by historic sites and enveloped in old-world charm.

The Old Brick House, built in 1685, is the oldest brick home in the region and one of the oldest in Virginia. The home is owned by the Old Brick House Foundation, which provides tours by appointment.

Fort Clifton is located near the Appomattox River and Swift Creek. The fort played a major role in the Civil War and the earthworks can be seen in the park. Fort Clifton Park includes an amphitheater, fishing pier, trail, playground, and picnic areas.

Violet Bank Museum served at headquarters for General Robert E. Lee in 1864. The museum includes artifacts from the period of 1815 to 1873 and includes furniture, glass, textiles, and ceramics as well as swords, guns, and books. The house is a Historic Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
