The park is popular among hikers and bikers, offering more than three miles of hard-surface trails, as well as nature trails and soft-surface trails. Local organizations lease the soccer and baseball fields, but the softball field and basketball court are open to the public on a first-come, first serve basis. There are also four picnic pavilions available for rent for community events and family get-togethers.

Frequent travelers will enjoy living within five miles of the San Antonio International Airport, which is conveniently located off of Interstate 410 and U.S. Highway 281.

Schools in the area include John H. Wood Middle School on Judson Road, San Antonio Country Day School on Jung Road, and Madison High School on Stahl Road. Brighton School and Northern Hills Elementary School, both on Higgins Road, are also in the vicinity.
