Alamo Farmsteads is a conveniently located neighborhood in the northern part of San Antonio. Within the neighborhood, there are several sections that feature homes by specific builders, and one of the most prominent of these is Greensboro Homes. It is located between Huebner Road to the east, Babcock Road to the northeast, Eckhert Road to the south and Leon Creek Greenway Park to the west.

Homes throughout the entire community vary greatly in size and architectural style. The majority of the homes that were built by Greensboro Homes are located in the Pecan Hill area of Alamo Farmsteads. These are newly constructed residences that are single and two-story structures ranging in size from about 1,328 to 1,927 square feet.

Throughout other parts of the neighborhood, there are more single-family homes, some of which are freestanding structures and others are townhomes. These residences range in size from 1700 to 2500 square feet and were built primarily in the late 1970s through the mid 1980s, although some houses have been remodeled at least once since they were built.

The area is especially desirable because of it’s convenience to important locations such as the Southwest Texas Medical Center, Fiesta Texas and the shops that are located at Huebner Oaks, Crossroads Mall and La Cantera. It is also convenient to Loop 1604, a major local thoroughfare that can provide residences with a much faster commute to other areas of the city.

Because many of the homes in the area are so new, there aren’t a lot of mature trees in parts of the neighborhood. Those who crave the exposure to beautiful greenery, mature oaks and spectacular mountain laurels can head over to O.P. Schnabel Park. The 202 acre park has a pavilion, playscape, some basketball courts and athletic fields and 4.5 miles of nature trails.
