Montgomery, Texas is a small historic gem of a city located about an hour northwest of Houston, just east of Lake Conroe. It is one of the oldest cities in the state and the birthplace of the Texas state flag. A copy of Dr. Charles B. Stewart’s drawing of the flag is located in the Nathan H. Davis Pioneer Complex and Museum, a log house originally built in 1851.
Although small in size, Montgomery is an exciting city with a lot happening. In addition to historic sites, residents enjoy a weekly Farmer’s Market, the Wine and Food Trail, a historic downtown, and beautiful parks. Fernland Historical Park is a unique park that features log homes and cabins – some of the oldest buildings in Texas.
After you select your Montgomery apartment to rent, you’ll enjoy shopping at the area antique stores, visiting nearby Houston attractions, and dining at local area restaurants. Golfers will appreciate the private Walden Golf Club, while La Torretta Lake Resort and Spa features a spa, restaurants, a golf course, and an aqua park.
