Westgate Acres Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
Westgate Acres is part of a mixed commercial and residential area west of downtown Midland. This is the part of town that is home to the Midland Rockhounds professional baseball team and their stadium, the First American Bank Ballpark. The Grande Communications Football Stadium is next to the ball park. Westgate Acres is one block north on the other side of State Highway 158. The Nueva Vista Golf Club is north of Westgate Acres via State Highway 158.
The residential part of this neighborhood was built mostly between 1970 and 1994. It consists mostly of single-family structures but some of the newer properties built after 1994 include high rise condo-style apartment complexes. Westgate Acres is considered stylish and suburban. The E-Z Rider transit system does service in the area, primarily along the Andrews Highway and State Highway 158 and points east. This is the western edge of Midland so you might consider a car if you are planning to explore the undeveloped areas farther west.
The commercial zone just south of Westgate Acres includes tenants such as Aquarium Technologies, the Colonial Storage Center, Lone Star Automotive and WheelsMart. On Princeton Avenue just a block from the residential area is the Gym Buddies workout center and the Abundant Life Worship Center. The nearest schools are Jones Elementary south of the baseball stadium and Alamo Junior High School on West Cuthbert Avenue four blocks east.
Nearby restaurants include the Osaka Japanese Steakhouse and the Clear Springs Restaurant, both just north of the baseball stadium on Tradewinds Boulevard. A Sam’s Club megastore is also on Tradewinds Boulevard near the Osaka. The Midland International Airport is located eight miles southwest via State Highway 158.
